A Journey of Love, Remembrance, and Hope – My 11th Year Riding for ALYN
Eleven years ago, I joined the Wheels of Love bike ride for the very first time with one single purpose: to meet Dr. Andy Seidman, a world-renowned physician, in the hope that he might be able to help my dear friend, Noga Wiesel.
I knew that if I stayed by his side as we climbed the long, challenging road to Jerusalem, I would have the chance to speak with him. And it worked.
For an entire year, Dr. Seidman guided, advised, and cared for Noga with extraordinary dedication. His support gave her the most precious gift imaginable—one more year of life. A year filled with beauty, friendship, love, meaning, and joy.
Noga is no longer with us, but every year she rides beside me.
What began as a journey for one beloved friend has become the journey of my life.
This year marks my eleventh Wheels of Love ride—a remarkable journey that brings together hundreds of cyclists from around the world, united by one shared purpose: raising funds for the children of ALYN Hospital.
Every year I am deeply moved to see people leave their families, jobs, and daily lives behind to come to Israel and spend days riding together, simply to give children a better future.
ALYN is so much more than a hospital.
It is a place of hope, rehabilitation, innovation, and compassion.
It is where children living with physical disabilities, recovering from severe injuries, or facing extraordinary medical challenges receive the opportunity to build fuller, more independent lives.
Over the years I have had the privilege of becoming part of the Grumpy Roadsters—a truly extraordinary group of generous, caring people who have become far more than fellow cyclists. They have become lifelong friends.
Together we raise funds, encourage one another through every climb, and somehow always find the strength to laugh—even when our legs have nothing left to give.
This year, once again, we will ride across the beautiful landscapes of Israel until we reach the gates of ALYN in Jerusalem, where we meet the children whose lives are changed because of this ride.
That moment reminds me, every single year, why I keep coming back.
Since October 7, the meaning of this journey has become even deeper.
In times of peace and in times of war, ALYN continues to provide world-class rehabilitation and care to children from every faith, nationality, and community. Its dedicated staff reflects the very best of Israeli society—people working side by side with one shared mission: helping every child reach their fullest potential.
Today, the need is greater than ever.

מסע של אהבה, זיכרון ותקווה – השנה ה־11 שלי ב”גלגלי אהבה”
לפני אחת־עשרה שנים הצטרפתי בפעם הראשונה למסע האופניים “גלגלי אהבה”, עם מטרה אחת בלבד – לפגוש את ד”ר אנדי סיידמן, מומחה עולמי, בתקווה שיוכל לעזור לחברתי האהובה נוגה ויזל.
ידעתי שאם אדווש לצדו בעליות הקשות לירושלים, אצליח להגיע אליו. וכך היה. במשך שנה שלמה הוא ליווה את נוגה במסירות, ייעץ, תמך והעניק לה מתנה יקרה מפז – עוד שנת חיים. שנה מלאה ביופי, אהבה, משמעות, חברות ושמחת חיים.
מאז נוגה איננה, אבל היא ממשיכה לרכוב איתי בכל שנה.
מה שהתחיל כמסע עבור חברה אחת, הפך למסע החיים שלי.
זו השנה ה־11 שאני רוכבת ב”גלגלי אהבה”, מסע שמפגיש מאות רוכבים מכל רחבי העולם, המאוחדים במטרה אחת – לגייס תרומות למען ילדי בית החולים אלי״ן.
בכל שנה מחדש אני מתרגשת לראות איך אנשים מגיעים מארצות שונות, משאירים הכול מאחור, ורוכבים יחד במשך ימים שלמים כדי להעניק לילדים הזדמנות לחיים טובים יותר.
אלי”ן הוא הרבה יותר מבית חולים. זהו מקום של תקווה, שיקום, חדשנות ואנושיות. מקום שבו ילדים שנפצעו, נולדו עם מוגבלויות או מתמודדים עם אתגרי חיים עצומים, מקבלים את ההזדמנות הטובה ביותר לחיים מלאים ועצמאיים.
במהלך השנים זכיתי להצטרף לקבוצת Grumpy Roadsters – חבורה מופלאה של אנשים טובי לב, שהפכו ממשפחה של רוכבים לחברים לחיים. יחד אנחנו מגייסים תרומות, מעודדים זה את זה בכל עלייה, וצוחקים גם כשהרגליים כבר עייפות.
גם השנה נרכוב בדרכי הארץ עד לירושלים, אל שערי אלי”ן, שם נפגוש את הילדים שבזכותם אנחנו מדוושים. בכל פעם מחדש המפגש הזה מזכיר לי למה אני חוזרת למסע שוב ושוב.
מאז ה־7 באוקטובר, המשמעות של המסע עמוקה אפילו יותר. בזמני מלחמה ובזמני שלום, אלי”ן מעניק טיפול ושיקום לילדים מכל הדתות, הלאומים והקהילות, והצוות המקצועי שלו משקף את פניה היפות של החברה הישראלית. הצורך בתמיכה רק גדל, והתרומות מאפשרות לבית החולים להמשיך להעניק טיפול מציל חיים לאלפי ילדים ומשפחות.
