My name is Elroi Ben Shushan.
Two and a half years ago, my life was turned upside down.
I suffered a very severe stroke.
No one believed I would ever walk again.
Before the stroke, you could almost always find me riding my bike.
Throughout my rehabilitation, cycling kept calling to me, but I thought that chapter of my life was over and that I would never ride a bike again.
During my rehabilitation, I heard about ALYN Hospital's Wheels of Love Ride, organized in cooperation with Etgarim, and I dreamed of being part of it.
Last year, I completed the Ride!
Since then, I've been riding once a week with Lisa on a tandem bicycle (a bicycle built for two), and this year I'm going to complete the Ride once again.
The experiences I've had during training and the Ride itself have become an incredibly meaningful part of my rehabilitation and my personal journey.

לפני שנתיים וחצי התהפכו עליי החיים.
עברתי אירוע מוחי קשה מאוד.
לא האמינו שאחזור ללכת.
לפני האירוע היה אפשר למצוא אותי כמעט תמיד רוכב על אופניים.
לאורך כל תקופת השיקום האופניים קרצו לי וחשבתי שזה נגמר ולא אחזור לרכב אף פעם שוב.
לאורך השיקום שמעתי על ״גלגלי אהבה״ של בית חולים אלין בשיתוף עמותת אתגרים וחלמתי להיות חלק.
שנה שעברה סיימתי את המסע.
מאז אני רוכב פעם בשבוע עם ליסה באופני טנדם (אופניים זוגיים)
והשנה אני הולך לצלוח שוב את המסע.
החוויות באימונים ובמסע הם חלק משמעותי מאוד בשיקום שלי ובמסע האישי שלי.
אני אשמח מאוד שתיקחו חלק במסע שלי!
