Harvey was a great guy to talk to, nice, and passionate about ALYN and all things Jewish. I met Harvey when he was on the WSJHS board. Some things I loved about Harvey: When he had a WSJHS question that I needed to respond to, he would send me a one-word email: “Nu?” That always made me laugh and got a quick response. He loved talking about ALYN. He loved sharing books. He went out of his way to promote books and authors. I loved randomly seeing Harvey on Queen Anne. He was always thoughtful and kind. I’m glad to have met him.

American Friends of ALYN Hospital and Wheels of Love mourns the passing of our dear friend and dedicated Board Member, Harvey Grad.

For more than 20 years, Harvey was a devoted supporter of ALYN Hospital. He was a passionate advocate, dedicated fundraiser, and proud participant in the Wheels of Love Ride. Harvey made it his mission to ensure that everyone he met knew about ALYN Hospital and its groundbreaking work transforming the lives of children with disabilities and complex medical needs. His unwavering commitment, generosity, and kindness touched countless lives and inspired all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Harvey was a beloved member of the ALYN family, and his presence, friendship, and dedication will be deeply missed. His legacy will continue to live on through the countless children whose lives have been impacted by his support.

In keeping with Harvey’s wishes, memorial gifts may be made to American Friends of ALYN Hospital in his honor. Your tribute will help ensure that children at ALYN continue to receive the exceptional care, rehabilitation, and hope that Harvey so passionately believed in.
