Riding for ALYN. Honoring My Mother. Changing Children's Lives.
In a few weeks, I'll be cycling through Israel's Negev Desert as part of Wheels of Love, raising funds for ALYN Hospital in Jerusalem.
I'm dedicating this ride to my mother, Doris Shack (of blessed memory), who devoted her career to helping children with disabilities as Director of Occupational and Physical Therapy at Bloorview Children's Hospital in Toronto.
Like Bloorview, ALYN is a world leader in pediatric rehabilitation, helping children with complex disabilities overcome challenges, gain independence, and reach their fullest potential.
This ride brings together two things close to my heart: honoring my mother's legacy and helping children live fuller, more independent lives.

בנובמבר הקרוב אשתתף ברכיבת Wheels of Love בדרום ישראל — ארבעה ימים מופלאים של רכיבה בנופי המדבר עוצרי הנשימה של הנגב. אבל אני לא עושה זאת רק בשביל הרכיבה.
אני רוכב/ת כדי לתמוך בבית החולים אלי"ן — המרכז היחיד בישראל לשיקום ילדים ובני נוער. זהו מקום ייחודי באמת, שבו ילדים עם מוגבלויות, פציעות קשות ומצבים רפואיים מורכבים מקבלים את הטיפול, השיקום והתמיכה הדרושים להם כדי להגיע למלוא הפוטנציאל שלהם.
