This November will be my 16th year riding in the Wheels of Love bike ride for ALYN Hospital, and I honestly can’t imagine a better way to spend my 56th birthday than on my bike, riding for the incredible kids of ALYN.
This year’s ride starting in Eilat, will take us through the south and finish in Jerusalem at the hospital. After last year’s ride, I ended up needing knee surgery, and I’m still recovering. I’m hoping and praying that by November I’ll be ready to ride off-road for four days. It won’t be easy, but when I think about the kids at ALYN and everything they overcome, it puts things into perspective. I’ll do the best I can!
One of the people who inspires me most is Adina. I first rode with her off-road in 2014, and then for many years we rode together on a tandem after she spent two years in the hospital recovering and relearning how to live after a traumatic brain injury. This year, she’ll be riding again as a volunteer, on her own bike. Watching her journey has been incredibly special.
ALYN is Israel’s only pediatric rehabilitation hospital, helping children with serious injuries and disabilities regain strength, independence and the ability to live fuller lives.
So once again, I’m asking you to ride with me in spirit and help me raise money for these amazing kids. Every donation makes a difference.
I’d love for you to cheer me on, and even more, help me help the kids of ALYN.
