This November, my team will be riding in the Wheels of Love bike ride in southern Israel - four incredible days of cycling through the breathtaking Negev Desert. But I'm not doing it just for the ride.

We're riding to support ALYN Hospital, Israel's only pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation center - a truly unique place where children with disabilities, severe injuries, and complex medical conditions get the treatment, therapies, and support they need to reach their fullest potential.

בנובמבר הקרוב, הצוות שלי ישתתף במסע רכיבת אופניים של בית החולים לילדים אלי"ן "מסע גלגלי אהבה 2024". זוהי רכיבה אתגרית בת מספר ימים שמתחילה במדבר יהודה ומסתיימת באלי"ן שבירושלים.

הרכיבה השנה מוקדשת ליקיר הקסטר ז"ל, שנפל בחודש ינואר במלחמת השבעה באוקטובר בהגנה על ישראל. יקיר ואביו היו רוכבים יחד במסע השנה אלמלא המלחמה. יקיר ומשפחתו תמכו בבי"ח אלי"ן במשך שנים דרך השתתפותם ב"גלגלי אהבה". השנה, מעבר לתמיכה בילדים, אני רוצה להמשיך את המורשת של יקיר.

בזמני מלחמה ושלום אלי"ן מטפל בילדים מכל הגזעים, הלאומים והדתות, והצוות המקצועי באלי"ן משקף את מגוון הקהילות להן היא דואגת. למרבה הצער, המלחמה הגבירה משמעותית את התלות והצורך בתמיכה כלכלית בכדי להמשיך טיפול באלפי ילדים עם מוגבלויות העוברים בשערי בית החולים.
