The amazing ride is behind us but it is not too late to contribute!
Your money will be used to support the innovative projects and the day-to-day operations of this wonderful institution which provides rehabilitation services to children, regardless of their ethnic/religious background.
As alluded to above, the hospital is at the forefront of developing equipment and products which will improve the quality of life of their patients, even after they are discharged. I want to point out one product/project, which caught my fancy and which is right up my professional alley. The team is in the process of designing a product which will make it easier for families to take their ventilator-dependent child out of the house for activities (and for doctors’ visits).
I had the honor and privilege of a personal tour of the first prototype of this product and a chance to discuss some of its aspects and challenges with the designers/developers. It is a customized roller-board suitcase in which a portable ventilator and associated equipment (including suction machine, spare battery, and pulse oximeter) can be easily transported. The suitcase is being designed so that the ventilator can be easily inserted and removed without having to disconnect the child and such that the critical display screen remains visible even while the case is closed.

אני רוצה לציין אחד מהפרויקטים המיוחדים שמשך את תשומת ליבי. יש קבוצה בביה״ח שמפתחת מזוודת טרולי המיועדת לניוד מכונת הנשמה וציוד הנלווה כמו סוקציה ומד-סטורציה כך שתרשה למשפחות להוציא מהבית בקלות את הילדים התלויים בהנשמה מלאכותית. הייתה לי הזדמנות וזכות לשוחח עם כמה מהאנשים שמפתחים את המזוודה ולעבור איתם על החידושים והאתגרים של הפרויקט. העיצוב של המזוודה הוא כך שכל הצגים החיוניים הם נגישים ונראים אפילו כשהמזוודה סגורה וניתן להכניס ולהוציא את מכונת ההנשמה מהמזוודה בקלות ובלי לנתק את הילד מהמכונה.
