This November, I'll be riding in the Wheels of Love bike ride in southern Israel. This is my first time doing the full ride - four incredible days of cycling through the breathtaking Negev Desert. But I'm not doing it just for the ride.

I'm riding to support ALYN Hospital, Israel's only pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation center - a truly unique place where children with disabilities, severe injuries, and complex medical conditions get the treatment, therapies, and support they need to reach their fullest potential.

I am dedicating my ALYN ride to the memory of my wonderful father Dr. (Rabbi) Yehuda Berdugo Z"L who passed away two years ago. He raised me to show empathy and to always extend a helping hand to those less fortunate around us. Every mile I pedal and every dollar raised is a tribute to the compassionate heart he passed down to me.

בנובמבר הקרוב אשתתף ברכיבת Wheels of Love בדרום ישראל. זו הפעם הראשונה שאני משתתף במהלך כל הרכיבה — ארבעה ימים מופלאים של רכיבה בנופי המדבר עוצרי הנשימה של הנגב. אבל אני לא עושה זאת רק בשביל הרכיבה.

אני רוכב כדי לתמוך בבית החולים אלי"ן — המרכז היחיד בישראל לשיקום ילדים ובני נוער. זהו מקום ייחודי באמת, שבו ילדים עם מוגבלויות, פציעות קשות ומצבים רפואיים מורכבים מקבלים את הטיפול, השיקום והתמיכה הדרושים להם כדי להגיע למלוא הפוטנציאל שלהם.

אני מקדיש את הרכיבה לזכר אבי מורי ד"ר (ורב) יהודה ברדוגו ז"ל שנפטר לפני שנתיים. הוא חינך אותי לחיות מתוך אמפתיה ותמיד להושיט יד תומכת למי שמזלם לא שפר עליהם. כל קילומטר שאדווש וכל שקל שיגויס הם מחווה ללב הרחום והחומל שהוא הנחיל בי.
